Here's What To Do Next...
Thank you for requesting the 52 Practice Interview Questions for School Administrators!
Check your email in about 5 minutes for the PDF download link, but in the meantime, read on for important next steps.
Here's how to use the 52 questions to prepare for ed leadership interviews:
- Print them out—yes, on paper!
- Write out bullet-point answers to each question
- Practice on video—or at least with a timer—and make sure you can speak for 4-5 minutes on each of them.
- Identify 8-10 stories you can use in response to "Tell us about a time when you..." questions, or just to make your answers more compelling.
The tricky thing about stories is that we tend to forget our most powerful and important experiences as leaders...either because they're unpleasant, or just because we have to move on to the next task so quickly.
To help you identify and capture the most compelling stories, I wanted to give you a chance to get your hands on a resource that I created for my private coaching clients: the Ascend Leadership Journal.
Not only does it have plenty of space for drafting your answers to the 52 practice interview questions...
...it also has prompts and logs to help you identify your most powerful experiences as a leader, which you can mention in your:
- Cover letter
...or have your references mention in their recommendation letters. I've been taking people through this process for years, and it's incredibly powerful. When you can say "Here's what I did" not just "Here's what I would do," your answers are far more compelling.
If you'd like a copy of the Ascend Leadership Journal, just take the Instructional Leadership Association for a spin for $19, and it's yours to keep.
Membership is $47/month, but to help you get going quickly, we've included a $28 discount when you join below, so your first month will be just $19.
You'll get instant access to the Ascend Leadership Journal PDF, plus the Résumé Blueprint workshop, which will help you make rapid improvements to your résumé.
In addition to the Résumé Blueprint training, you'll get my 16-page step-by-step Résumé Blueprint PDF guide to help you implement the exact recommendations I share in the training.
In this training and PDF guide, you'll discover how to create a résumé that stands out from the crowd, so you get more interviews for your next-level instructional leadership role. You'll discover:
- Why you should never start with a "candidate profile" (it'll sink your résumé's credibility)—and what to use instead
- How to go beyond listing your references, and knock their socks off with my "résumé PDF secret weapon"
- How to deal with gaps in your work history and jobs you held for a year or less
- Why listing routine duties makes you blend in with every other candidate—and how to identify and describe meaningful accomplishments that will make you stand out
- How to sequence your professional experience so it's obvious that you're ready to move to the next level
The Résumé Blueprint workshop, Ascend Leadership Journal, and book are yours to keep, even if you cancel (and cancelling is very easy—just shoot us an email or leave us a voicemail at 1-800-861-5172).
